COURT proceedings initiated by logging company, Northern Forest Products Limited,
was struck out by the National Court on June 14, for abuse of process.

The application to dismiss the proceedings was filed by lawyers for Northern Governor
Gary Juffa.

The court, in its ruling, found that the logging company had abused the process by filing
multiple court cases at the District Court in Port Moresby, National Court and Supreme
Court simultaneously, seeking the same relief, which was to restrain Northern Governor
and others from interfering with their operations in Wanigela, Northern Province.
